Relationship Counseling
Create meaningful connections that serve both you and your loved ones.
You may have arrived here because…
- You feel disconnected from a loved one and struggle to communicate effectively.
- You experience frequent conflicts and feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells around each other.
- You feel unappreciated or unloved and question the strength of your relationship.
- You are overwhelmed by unresolved issues and past hurts that affect your current interactions.
- You long for better relationships but don’t know how to take the first step.
However you came across this page, I’m thrilled you’re here. Take a look to see if my counseling for relationships might be right for you.
You might cope with these conflicts by avoiding difficult conversations, or you may find yourself in arguments, wondering how they even started.
You may feel uncomfortable expressing your needs and emotions, leading to feelings of frustration, resentment, and loneliness. Over time, this can contribute to depression, making it even harder to navigate your relationships.
Persistent tension in a relationship can cause you to overthink every interaction and the fear of triggering another argument can leave you feeling anxious, creating a sense of instability and insecurity in the relationship. As these feelings build up, they can significantly impact your emotional well-being.
You might have become disconnected from your loved one and fear a loss of intimacy without addressing the issues at hand. You may not know where to begin with improving your relationship because you have spent so much time avoiding the deeper problems.
If this is you: you need a space where you can take a heartfelt look at unhealthy relationship dynamics and start cultivating those that are positive and nurturing, allowing you to feel connected and valued.
Discovering the Strength in Your Connections
I see all relationships, whether it is friends, partners, family members, or coworkers, as an integral part of how we feel about ourselves, others, and the world. The quality of your relationships reflects the quality of your life.
In addition to offering practical communication tools, I also help you see how taking inventory of your relationships could benefit you and have tremendous influence on the people around you. It is possible to build on the strengths of your relationships and have them be enjoyable to everyone involved.
I help you reconnect with your loved ones and find a sense of belonging in your relationships. By understanding and embracing each other’s needs and identities, you can build stronger, more meaningful connections and feel confident in your relationships.
My Experiences with Relationship Counseling
Working with clients, I saw that relationships were usually the reason that brought them into therapy. In fact, that was true for myself as well. When I first started therapy, I needed help navigating some tricky relationship dynamics. During that process, I learned that I had a say in how I wanted to be treated and that I could say “no” even if I felt guilty, because I knew I was doing what was right for me.
It can be so difficult to navigate complicated relationships, especially when it’s family or people really close to us. I help you understand how to set and maintain boundaries, overcome codependency, perspective take, build compassion, and be less reactive and more steady in your relationships. I love combining my clinical training in Safe Conversations, conflict resolution, assertiveness, and Prepare/Enrich with my own experiences to foster a safe space where you can build essential skills that will guide you in handling various types of relationships.
